Alejandro Miguel’s Duroc pig is the result of having created our own genetic lineage. We obtain the desired percentages between fat and lean meat that provide all of our products with that special flavour, juiciness and tenderness.
“Our products are made from the Duroc breed of pig, the only white pig breed that is allowed to be crossbred with the Iberian pig.”
We have done more than simply take on and incorporate animal welfare into all of the Alejandro Miguel Group’s companies, as all of our farms have controls in place to ensure the animals are being properly handled in adequate facilities during each of the growth phases.
Our Duroc pigs are fed with feed that is created and made by us, always from natural ingredients. This is how we ensure our livestock receives a proper diet, from birth and throughout the entire growth cycle.
“A natural diet adapted to each stage of the life cycle helps us obtain a raw material with exceptional organoleptic characteristics”
The meat of our Duroc pig is a better source of protein and has a more optimal nutritional profile compared to other pork products.
It has a high concentration of B vitamins, which are important for the metabolism and the release of energy through food. It also has a noteworthy iron content, very important in the development and prevention of diseases.
It contains high doses of proteins that are necessary for muscle development, and is composed of a good combination of essential amino acids, necessary for the growth, repair and maintenance of cells.
Rich in monounsaturated fats with high amounts of oleic acid, which helps maintain adequate levels of good cholesterol (HDL), lowering bad cholesterol (LDL).
"What matters most to me when grocery shopping is knowing that I’m going to be putting quality products on the table, I want us to have a balanced and healthy diet at home, and Alejandro Miguel’s Carnes Especiales give me that assurance"
“The meat that I like the most is the meat that’s cooked for me at home. I eat it so fast because it’s just delicious. And I usually ask for seconds!”
"All you have to do is look at its colour and the fine streaks of fat to know that this is a high quality meat. I’ve been consuming it for years and it never lets me down; it doesn’t matter if I grill it on a normal day or prepare it for a barbecue when people come over, it’s always juicy"
